Pain in the...I feel like all I have been doing this weekend/week is writing out grocery lists for our upcoming festivities. So, you all are going to reap the benefits! FREE PRINTABLE Pain the the Groceries To Buy List. This is part of my list series. Mark the boxes when you find the item and to remind yourself if you have a coupon. Each downloadable PDF has 2 list sheets per page. Just print out on text weight paper {I print them on the back of old printouts or junk mail}, trim on the dotted lines, and leave loose or staple together. You could also print them on cardstock and tie together for a gift!
Have you taken the trip of a lifetime? Know someone who has? Remember that special time with a one-of-a-kind personal trip map! Relatives of mine just returned from a two week visit to Italy. To help them remember their journey, I created these personal maps.
Maps are wonderful! They come in many different forms, from a classic Rand McNally to beautiful vintage designs. Many of these can be found free on the internet and printed onto your choice of paper. There are many ways to execute this DIY depending on your personal skill level.
The above map was created starting with a clip art line drawing of Italy and I refined it by tracing over a map that I found on the internet.
Simply find a map and a nice fine point Sharpie and sketch the path. Maybe even write a short reminder note of an event that happened at each stop. {These wedding invitation maps found via Brooklyn Bride may give you some inspiration.}
Have your kids draw or use stickers to illustrate on a map what they remember along the way.
Finish it off with a simple frame and a handwritten note and you have a one-of-a-kind personal trip map!
Have a great weekend everyone! Maybe you should take a trip...

I just finished these super cute boy themed baby shower favors. My mom was my helpful assistant on this project. We found a cute poem and ran with it. I could not find favor boxes that I liked, so being a package designer, I created a dieline and made little kraft boxes. This was an easy and fun project. It could easily be adapted to a child's birthday party, wedding favors, a girl's night out gathering, or just as a cute one-of-a-kind surprise for someone special. Have a great weekend!
**My design advice: Do not underestimate the visual impact of candy. It is an inexpensive way to create beautiful design through color and texture.
1. Choose your theme colored candy.
2. Print your favor boxes with a design, or use a stamp or a stamp that you have turned into vector art. {click here for the DIY stamp to vector image tutorial}. Assemble. {remember to decorate while box is flat.}
3. Place candy into favor bags. Bags into boxes. Place sticker or paper label on box.
**Candy used from left to right: two blue M&Ms, blue raspberry flavored raspberries and gummie bears, sweet tart like legos, candy made to look like realistic rocks and blueberry flavored Jelly Bellys.

We have a friend who will be running in the Indianapolis Mini-marathon this weekend. My husband and I have run this 13.1 mile race before and it is so much fun! They have bands and people cheering on the sidelines for you the entire time. You even have the opportunity to run around the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway! We were trying to think or something fun and inspiring to give to him for good luck. What could be better than a pasta dinner?! The recipe is on the back of the sauce jar and a personal note is on the back of the pasta jar. I purchased these inexpensive smooth ball jars at Hobby Lobby and the tri-color pasta from Whole Foods. The sauce is a Giada De Laurentiis receipe. It is super easy. Good Luck Henry!
I am so excited to be able to share this freelance project with you. I loved every step. It is a merchandise catalog that was done as a support piece to a magalog that I had also collaborated on. The client was amazing and the design firm that I worked with, Evolve Creative, is a talented and friendly bunch. Definintely one of my favorites to have the opportunity to work with. Below are some category dividers and spreads. This piece will also be featured in my Portfolio under the Print section. Have a great weekend!

I was flipping through the coupon section of the newspaper, doing my recession duties as a wife, when I turned the page and there they were! Three packaging products that I had worked on for Summit Brands and their logo which I had re-designed a while ago. Such a nice surprise when you stumble onto work you did a couple of years ago.
